Pay: £132 – £150 per day (dependent on experience)

Job Description:
Peirene Press is seeking a creative and hard-working Publicity and Administration Assistant to support our co-publishers. The primary responsibilities include ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our office, collaborating with the co-publishers to devise and deliver marketing and publicity campaigns for our titles, organizing and promoting author and translator events, and helping to manage our e-commerce and website. The successful candidate will primarily work alongside our co-publisher in our office in Bath.
Key Responsibilities include:
Publicity & Marketing
- Assist in the development and execution of marketing and publicity campaigns for new books.
- Contact reviewers, bloggers, and literary editors to secure coverage for our titles.
- Liaise with event venues, authors, and translators to organize literary events.
- Book travel and accommodation for visiting authors and translators, coordinate signings and publicity appearances, and provide support during their stay in the UK.
- Manage social media accounts and content schedules, growing our online following by developing promotional content and engaging with our audience.
- Assist the co-publishers with a bi-weekly newsletter, ensuring timely delivery to subscribers.
- Monitor marketing and promotional successes, keeping the sales team informed of developments.
- Compile catalogues, presentations, and information sheets for various titles.
Administration
- Process and send online orders via the Peirene website
- Keeping the website up to date.
- Track literary prize deadlines and manage entries.
- Assisting with funding applications.
- Managing Ebook production.
Skills and Experience:
- Strong interest in literature and publishing.
- Previous experience in marketing or administrative roles; experience in publishing is preferable but not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident in using social media platforms and marketing tools, with strong visual sense and ideas for content; experience using Adobe or Canva to design content is preferable but not essential.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Language skills are a plus, but not essential.
