Peirene Stevns Translation Prize 2020 winner announced!

We are absolutely delighted to announce the winner of this year’s Peirene Stevns Translation Prize, John Litell.

John’s translation of a sample from Andrea Lundgren’s Nordisk Fauna was selected by our three judges, Sarah Death, Chris Power and Gesche Ipsen. The judges had a really hard decision to make as the shortlisted translations were of such a high quality. As our winner, John will receive a contract for the full translation of Nordisk Fauna to be published by Peirene in 2021, a mentorship with renowned Swedish translator Sarah Death and a translator’s retreat in the Pyrenees. A huge congratulations to John for this fantastic achievement.

We would also like to say a big thank you to everyone who entered the prize this year. We had such a fantastic response, and it has been such a privilege to read all your wonderful work. We wish all entrants the very best of luck with their future endeavours.
