"I have never before witnessed a book launch like the one at the Peirene Salon. In fact, I have never heard of any similar literary event. Such a heart-felt, witty, intelligent and thought-provoking evening, surrounded by alert and lively people. An atmosphere that you, Meike, created. Every author should have the good fortune once in their life to be a Peirene author. At the moment it’s my turn and I’m loving the experience." Alois Hotschnig

"The Peirene Salon was the perfect setting for a literary evening, especially for a book of such intimate stories as Maybe This Time. It was truly inspiring to be be surrounded by so many interesting and interested readers, all of us all of us enchanted by Meike’s nymph magic (and the outstanding wines)." Tess Lewis

"When Meike asked me to chair a literary salon I was incredibly flattered and incredibly nervous. I so admire her list of books by hardcore European intellectuals - a list that brightens up the UK literary scene and give us hope that we are not merely an island culture.
It was for me a lovely evening. All three of us had prepared, felt nervous and decided to embrace spontaneity with a new found vigour. I hope that the salon guests saw how much we were enjoying playing with ideas and words, how much we were intent on a conversation and not a formal expose and did not in any way feel left out. It was a great honour to be part of such a sparkling event and to think it all happened in my own backyard." Henrietta Foster
