Meike Ziervogel  is a German writer and journalist who lives in London. She grew up in North Germany and studied Arabic language and literature. She has worked for Reuters, Agence France Press, Financial Times TV and Routledge. In the summer of 2008 she decided to set up a small independent publishing house. She named it Peirene Press. Peirene was a Greek Nymph who turned into a water spring. The poets of Corinth discovered the Peirene source and for centuries drank its water to receive inspiration. Peirene Press specializes in contemporary European literature.
