Independent Foreign Fiction Prize 2011: Peirene No 1 longlisted
In March 2011 Beside the Sea by Véronique Olmi, translated by Adriana Hunter, was longlisted for the IFFP 2011.

In September 2010 Peirene Press was shortlisted for this prize which celebrates genuine treasures of the literary world. Peirene was the only publishing house on the short list.
"Peirene is a sparkling exception. Stunning novellas in translation, presented with consummate care. It would have been easy to choose one of their books, such as Veronique Olmi’s shattering Beside the Sea. Easy but wrong, because however good the books, the Press itself matters."
